On my tenth day In Europe, I arrived at Luxembourg after spending six days in Netherland and three days in Belgium. I planned to stay in Luxembourg for two days. So, I decided to spend a day visiting waterfall away from the city, and one day to explore Luxembourg City.
During my research, I found this beautiful waterfall hidden in the Luxembourg Forest some few hours away from City of Luxembourg. It is called Schiessetumpel Waterfall. It is located in Mullerthal village in eastern Luxembourg, and known as Little Switzerland. The name bestowed to the region for its similarity of is geography with Switzerland. It has thick forests, small streams, and hilly terrains.
About Mullerthal Trail
Although my initial intention was to visit the Waterfall, soon I found out that there were beautiful scenery throughout the region. Mullerthal famous for its Mullerthal trails (all info about the trail available 👉🏻 here), which comprises of three kinds of trail with total of 112 km. Both trail 2 and trail 3 has 38 km in distance or about 12-13 hours duration. Trail 2 and Trail 3 pass Schiessentumpel Waterfall. Knowing these facts, I did not go full on the trail. Although, even if I wanted to go the full trail, it was impossible to do a trail in one day, especially with my pace.
So, my plan was to go to Echternach and follow trail 2 or trail 3 up until Schiessentumpel Waterfall, and go to the nearest bus station to go back to Luxembourgh at the same day. If you want to do full Trail 1/Trail 2/Trail 3, you can get the detail 👉🏻 here or 👉🏻 here.

The trail towards Schiessentümpel Waterfall
Although I am not a frequent hiker, I can say that this trail has a remarkable and varying landscape. The most exciting part of the trail is the rock formations and the high trees that eat us. The great thing about this trail, is that you can get out of the trail at any point and any time. However, I cannot detail any further since I did not hike the full route.
All of trees, the rocks and the cave leading us toward the beautiful waterfall namely Schiessentümpel Waterfall. Some people choose to drive up to the nearest point possible to the Waterfall. However, walking the Mullerthal Trail giving the best scenery you can get here in Luxembourg.
