Once I arrived at Coolangatta Airport, I immediately walked across the arrival gate in front of central pedestrian access, because that’s where the luggage storage was. I didn’t want to travel around Gold Coast pulling my cabin-sized luggage around.
Luckily, there’s Translink. It’s a transportation network service that includes bus and tram. I used BUS 700 to get to the Broadbeach south, and then continued by Tram, and stopped at Surfer paradise before entering SkyPoint Observation Deck. All I needed to do was buying the Go Card on the airport and the top it up.
Skypoint observation deck_ ticket can be purchased online via the website, and it cost AUD 24 for general admission. If you want to climb to the top, you can also do the skypoint climb. It costs AUD 74. At that time, the climb timetable did not match with the arrival schedule, and therefore I was just eyeing around in the skydeck.
Boy how lovely the view from above was. In the 360 degree observation deck, I could see GoldCoast landscape and included its skyscraper, the coastal line, as well the arrangement. Simply beautiful.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Going to Currumbin from Skypoint was basically using the same transport backward. I used tram, followed by the same 700 Bus. The main road in GoldCoast relatively easy to understand since it connects the main attraction from north to south.
Although it was a short visit to see Koala, but I managed to see other Australian-native animals and was able to back to the airport on time for the outbound flight to Cairns.
So what about the skydive?
In the last day on Queensland, as I circled back to Goldcoast, I spared about 2 hours to do the skydive. I picked Goldcoast skydive because that’s the closest and the only provider in Goldcoast I could get and the review was good. There are so many providers across Queensland for example in Sunshine Coast, or in Brisbane and they are worth considering. If you’re not on tight schedule, Skydive in other place may be more economic.
